We get many questions a day regarding our hair colours and whether they contain PPD.

We are proud to say that we have eliminated this chemical in most of our dyes, and we clearly state in the product description which colours do contain PPD so there is no confusion.

Unfortunately, at the moment it is scientifically impossible to create a permanent dark dye without the use of PPD, which is the active ingredient in ensuring the dark colour molecules adhere to the hair.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Hair colourants can cause severe allergic reactions
  • Read and follow instructions
  • This product is not intended for use on persons under the age of 16
  • Temporary "black henna" tattoos may increase your risk of allergy
  • Do not colour your hair if:
    • You have a rash on your face or sensitive, irritated and damaged scalp
    • You have ever experienced any reaction after colouring your hair
    • You have experienced a reaction to a temporary "black henna" tattoo in the past

  • Avoid contact with eyes. Rinse eyes immediately if product comes into contact with them
  • Do not use to dye eyelashes or eyebrows
  • Rinse hair well after application

PPD and Ammonia FREE

Para-phenylenediamine (PPD) is a chemical substance that is widely used as a permanent hair dye. Reaction caused by the use of hair dye in mild cases usually only involves dermatitis to the upper eyelids or the rims of the ears. In more severe cases, there may be marked reddening and swelling of the scalp and the face. Severe allergy to PPD can result in contact urticaria and rarely, anaphlaxsis

Ammonia is responsible for separating the cuticles, causing hardening, weight loss and reduction in hair thickness.
